The spirits in Fiji are Blood Thirsty
28 Sept 2007
This is my heart’s cry to all the people of Fiji - the Church and its leaders , Government, political and Chiefs and Community leaders - but above all to the believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. I was in Fiji recently and was appalled by the things I was seeing and hearing. I am a former Radio Fiji journalist and now an active witness for God in Christ who not only changed me, but transformed me such that I now travel throughout the world to proclaim His Gospel of Salvation.
Our Struggle Is Not Against Flesh and Blood
In the Book of Ephesians Chapter 6 verse 12 the Holy Bible clearly states “ For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”.
In Fiji today we see these forces hard at work with the worship of ancestral spirits such as dakuwaqa, idol spirits, freemasonry, and witchcraft. For the last twenty or so years, these evil spirits have been creating havoc. We have seen and experienced political instability, poverty, ever increasing crime, violence, murders, sexual immorality, incest, greed, lust, bribery, corruption and many others. I myself do not claim to be above reproach but a sinner saved by the Grace of God. The evil spirits and forces of darkness while they all work separately in their own ways, they all serve the same master – Satan. And they all are all after the same thing – the blood and lives of people. These same spirits have been at work recently in a chiefly feud in the Northern Division which has already claimed a life. They have succeeded in blinding and deceiving the people from the truth. The Lord Jesus Christ says in John 14 verse 6 “I am the way, the truth and the life.” He also says the truth will set us free.
Today in Fiji, sadly, we see many of the descendants of the ancestral fathers moving away from the truth and have indulged in ungodly acts. Our indigenous ancestors received and exercised Godly wisdom when they embraced Christianity and turned away from evil. They repented and were forgiven for acts of warfare, murder and cannibalism. By embracing Christianity, they saw peace for more than a hundred years. God forgave them.. And when God had forgiven them, who are we to remind them of their past. Authoritative sources say that within 50 years of the coming of the Gospel , 90% of the whole of the population of Fiji were worshipping Him on a Sunday. However, today we see a rise in ungodly acts which are not in accordance with the Ten Commandments. Worship of ancestral spirits and witchcraft is not just prevalent ,it is rife. Innocent lives are being sacrificed for the blood thirsty spirits. Children go missing, people disappear, murders are being committed and many crimes are unresolved.
Worship of idols and evil spirits, even the practise of sorcery and witchcraft is rife. The Book of Ezekiel Chapter 36 verse 18 says “So I poured wrath on their land because they had shed blood in the land and defiled it with idols.” 2 Corinthians Chapter 6 verse 16 says :”What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? As God has said “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
So why do we have to worship idols which are made by men when God Himself dwells in us by His Holy Spirit. Yet today when we visit the interior of Rakiraki and other remote places in other parts of Fiji, we hear of stories of how people go up to the Nakauvadra ranges and other places to make sacrifices to the evil spirits and powers. Some of them seek spirit mediums and send such spirits to other people to bring harm. I have come across people in Fiji who have been demon possessed but through prayer God delivered them from the enemy.
The descendants of the Girmityas are suffering because of poverty and their inability to acquire land for farming purposes. They live in fear of insecurity. Many in Fiji are living behind iron bars in their own homes living in fear of their lives.
The Fijians also fear losing their God ordained custody of the land as it is easy for some unscrupulous politicians and leaders to instil such fear in the minds and hearts of the people. Our God in Christ Jesus has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind (2nd Tim 1:7).
Godly Europeans brought Christianity into Fiji but later some others introduced the ungodly freemasonry to Fiji. Freemasonry is based on the sacrifice of human blood and no matter how secretive the freemasons are, the Holy Bible tells us that all sin will be exposed in the open. And the Holy Bible also warns us “that whatever we sow, we reap.” Now many Indians and Fijians, mostly businessmen and leaders, have been sucked into freemasonry. Fiji is suffering economically . Are we reaping what we have sowed? As the saying goes ...“Truth hurts.” Some of us are too quick to blame God , government, and others without first looking at our own actions and deeds.
The spirits of evil and darkness are very clever. Do not underestimate the power of Satan and his cohorts. Outwardly there would be signs that good is being done but on deeper examination one will find the deceit and the counterfeit nature of the evil spirits. They are simply liars and deceivers. People themselves are not generally bad but it is the evil spirits and the forces of darkness which because of sin people allow to get into their lives. I am writing this by the leading of the Holy Spirit so that the scales will fall from the eyes of people. While living in Australia for more than 25 years now and having found Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour some 20 years ago, I have visited the home of my birth nation every year in the past 25 years now. And never before as in recent times I have come across so strongly the powers of darkness and evil at work in the nation of my birth which I love so dearly and pray for daily. But I do believe in God’s words and God says where sin increases, grace increases too. That does not mean that we go on sinning to see the increase in God’s grace but God empowers His people to combat the increase of sin with His Grace. God tells us that “His Grace is sufficient for us.”
God Has a Plan for Fiji:
I strongly believe that Fiji has a special place in God’s heart and the enemy (Satan) knows it. God has a plan for Fiji and the plan is to prosper it and not to harm it. God says in the Holy Bible “ if My people will humble themselves, I will heal their lands.” There is however no evidence of people humbling themselves. But as I look into the past and think how the ancestral fathers’, who were once warring against each other, humbled themselves and came together, and Fiji saw prosperity and blessings. God wants to bless Fiji more than ever. He wants to see Fiji prosper and His people prosper and live in peace. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.
The Church in Fiji
And where is the Church in this. Today we see a Church building in Fiji every five minutes when we travel around which gives the impression that Fiji is a godly nation. The Holy Bible talks about having a form of godliness but with no power. 2 Timothy Chapter 3 verse 5 says “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof, from such turn away.”
Today we also see the prisons crowded with most inmates who profess to Christianity as their religion. I do not know what doctrines they are being taught and who is teaching them for if they were Christians they would not be prisoners but would be free. Yes, Apostle Paul, was imprisoned not for crimes or violent acts, but for preaching the Gospel of truth. In Christ Jesus, we are no longer prisoners but free for He has broken the chains of bondage and sin. Why today those who claim to be Christians are breaking into homes with masked faces, knives and axes. Why is the crime rate so high? Why is there so much hatred amongst the people? What is the teaching of the Church? Surely, they are teaching about God’s love and love for mankind. Has the Church become so weak that it no longer can stand up for the truth that we fall for the doctrines of men and not God. Here I may appear to have generalised and I do ask for forgiveness as I personally know of several God fearing Church leaders in Fiji.
In the Holy Bible I have not come across Catholics, Methodists, Assembly of God, Baptists, Presbyterians or any of the other more than ten thousand denominations in the world. But I have come across the Body of Christ and the assembly of saints. Can we worship the true and living God together in unity in Spirit and in Truth? I have also come across the Scriptures in Psalm 133 “When brethren dwell together in unity, God commands blessing.”
To the Church Leaders:
To the leaders of the Church I request and humbly plead , considering myself lesser than you , to ask and to examine ourselves whether what is going on is right in the sight of God. God says “ I am Holy, so be you Holy also.” Are we Holy ? Are we righteous or do we please men? The Apostle Peter said it very clearly in the Holy Bible that he would rather please God, then men. Many Churches signed a petition against the Interim Government describing the removal of the previous Government as illegal. I will not comment on this as this is before the Court for jurisdiction. However, many are asking where were these same Churches in 1987 and 2000. Okay, that was in the past and we forgive and forget . But where are these Churches when people’s homes and businesses are being invaded by masked hooligans, where are these Churches when innocent people are being killed, discriminated and victimised, where are these Churches when women and young girls are being raped, when children are being molested, when the nation needs to humble before God.? What has happened to the love they neighbour as yourself commandment? Whose responsibility is it to speak out against evil? Whose responsibility is it to teach the doctrines and the commandments of God?
Yes, there are those who are making genuine efforts but they are not being supported because of divisions in the Church – the Body of Christ- today. I have come across many God fearing Church leaders in Fiji who have a genuine desire to seek unity in the Body of Christ. They have a genuine desire to take the nation forward through prayer, supplication and action. Faith without action is futile. Many have made great contributions and are continuing to do so. However, there are also some who are building their own empires. Some of these have even come to Australia and are doing the same thing in Australia. These comments may irk and irritate I apologise if I have offended anyone in anyway but I do not apologise if one is being rebuked by God. I am not God , but His lowly servant . I love all in Christ Jesus. I do not want to speak against my brothers in Christ nor to judge or slander them in anyway but to encourage them to seek the ways of the Lord at all times and to speak the truth and prayerfully act by the leading of the Holy Spirit against evil. Let us unite in prayer and seek the Lord. We are His children. Let us cry unto Him Our Lord and Saviour.
Forces of Darkness, seeking confrontation:
In some quarters of Fiji, there are moves afoot to have a confrontation with the Army. They must know this will only result in bloodshed. Already in the 2000 coup, blood was shed but for the blood thirsty spirits this was not enough. We are living in the last days and people are being blinded and deceived more and more by the spirits of anger and hatred. I write this with all good intentions in that we have to rise up against the enemy – Satan- and stop the impending bloodshed through prayer and supplication to the Lord. I also found during my recent visit that people who used to be free and open to talk to are so fearful these days to talk to anyone. This is not the Fiji we want. We want an open , free, fair and friendly Fiji. For Fiji is a fabulous place.
It is time:
It is time to search our hearts with all sincerity and honesty. I myself refuse to take sides in Fiji with any part of Fiji’s politics , Church politics or the military. I, like many believers in Christ Jesus, want to be in God’s side always which is His winning side. I do not believe the answer is in man. It is in God and in God alone. I would like to see God fearing men and women govern the nation of Fiji, for that matter every other nation, with fairness and justice. I pray for the Interim Prime Minister and other political and Church leaders in Fiji. I pray for the Chiefs in Fiji. I pray for every man, woman, boy and girl in Fiji for their Salvation, peace, strength and prosperity. There is no room for complacency, nepotism, greed, bribery and corruption.
Today we are being deceived by the blood thirsty evil and demonic spirits suggesting that all gods are one when there is only One true and living God. Fiji is being demonised and I am being prompted by the Holy Spirit to speak out and pray against the forces of darkness and evil. Fiji is in my daily prayers and I am confident that there are many other God fearing people praying for Fiji in Fiji and elsewhere. In the Book of James Chapter 3 verse 17 says :”But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” The Scripture also says “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
James Chapter 3 verse 7 says :”Submit yourselves, then to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” and in Verse 8 “ Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners and purify your hearts, you double minded.” And verse 10 says “Humble yourselves, before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
Wake Up Fiji
I pray that the leaders of Fiji – all – inclusive of Church, the army, the police, political and community leaders will humble themselves before God. Could someone have the courage to say “Sorry” and say we have been doing things wrong and it is now time to seek God for direction and seek His supernatural wisdom and power.
Our Church leaders and political leaders, in fact all our people ,will do well if they would kneel before God who will heal the people and the land. 2 Chronicles Chapter 7 verse 14 says “ If my people which are called by my Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Those who claim to be God’s people must demonstrate the love of Christ Jesus in their own lives. They must be shining lights for Jesus Christ which will be seen by others. God is light. Christ said I give you a new commandment which is to love one another. However, today we find denominations fighting against each other, Christians divided in the House of God. How can the House of God stand when it is divided. How will people follow Christ, when those who proclaim to be Christians demonstrate ungodliness and unholiness, bickering and division, hatred, selfishness, injustice, discrimination and indulge in acts of filthiness, sorcery, witchcraft, freemasonry and idol worship . The Apostle Paul in Ephesians Chapter 4 verses 1-3: said “ As a prisoner for the Lord then I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with another with love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace .”
It is time for the Church and the Christians in Fiji to wake up. God wants to prosper Fiji. In His wisdom he brought together in His own mysterious ways the people of one of the world’s tiny island nations (Fiji) and one of the world’s most populous nations (India) that they may dwell together in unity. India, one of the world’s oldest civilisations, today is perhaps one of the most progressive nations. Fijians are seen as the most friendly and generous people in the world. One can see how they open their hearts to visitors. Recently we saw how ,despite the difficult times they themselves are facing , they opened their purse for a particular Church in Fiji. Indians are the most hardworking people in the world. God even blessed Fiji with people who have the money and the resources (Europeans) to prosper Fiji. Remember the three legged stool illustration so conveniently used by some politicians in the past. Well the legs cannot stand together on their own, they need to be nailed or glued to something to hold them firmly together. Is this the Church I ask??? Our Christ Jesus was crucified and nailed to the Cross of Calvary. Are we still crucifying him and nailing Him by not adhering to His command s of loving one another. Shame, shame. Repent Fiji, repent or else the blood thirsty spirits will cause havoc in the beautiful islands of Fiji. Fiji , the way the world should be, was a famous slogan once but now no one dares to to say this anymore. But I say to all in Fiji , there is hope and where Christ is worshipped in Spirit and in Truth there is hope for peace, progress and prosperity and the slogan Fiji the way the world should be ,can still be true if we are all following the God of Truth for Christ says “I am the way, the truth and the life” . The forces of darkness and evil, the spirits who are thirsty for blood want to steal, kill and destroy but God loves us as in John 3: 16 which tells us “For God so loved the world, that He gave, His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
As a humble and lowly servant of the Most High God in Christ Jesus, it is my duty to speak about things which are ungodly. By writing this I know I may be ridiculed and persecuted but I fear no one but God alone. I love God who has commanded me to love one another.
To the believers:
To my fellow Christians in Fiji, I humbly plead to you to bring down the barriers that exist between us. We are made anew in Christ and old things have passed away. If we have become a new creation in Christ then why are we still thinking as Fijians, Indians, Europeans, Chinese, and other races. We are to be one people of God and to be the answer of the Lord’s Prayer in John Chapter 17 verses 20 to 23: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me . I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are One; I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.”
Ephesians Chapter 4 verses 4 to 6 says : “ There is one body and one Spirit just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all”.
Why are we allowing the enemy (Satan) to bring a division amongst us when our God wants to bless us . In Christ Jesus, we have the power over all things as the enemy is defeated. Let us unite in Spirit and in Truth and intercede for Fiji that the living God in Christ Jesus is the Sovereign Lord of Fiji.
Reconciliation:
I started with Ephesians Chapter six and now shall come back to the same chapter in the Holy Bible but this time going to verses 13 to 18:
“Therefore put on the full armour of God so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplace of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of Salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. “
I know in the past there has been much talk about reconciliation. But as I said once before in an interview with the Daily Post newspaper, reconciliation is a heart thing. It begins with the change of heart. No man can change the heart , only God can. First ,we must be reconciled with God, Our Father, and then to one another. The Lord Jesus Christ had the Ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 verse s 17 to 21 says :” Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new come. All this is from God , who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the Ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ and not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors , as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf : Be reconciled to God. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God,”
Let us reach out to each other in Godly love, help the poor and the oppressed and obey the command of God to love your neighbour.
Time for God’s Favour is Now...
The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthian Chapter 6 verse 1 urges us not to receive God’s grace in vain and in verse 2 God says: “In time of my favour , I heard you and in the day of salvation, I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation,”.
My brothers and sisters in Fiji I urge you to look up to God in Christ for now is the time of God’s favour. Now is the time to cry out to Him to seek His help, now is the time to intercede for Fiji, now is the time for unity, now is the time for reconciliation. Now is the time for God’s people to rise up and proclaim, declare and decree that Jesus Christ is the Lord God of Fiji.
And while I do not compare myself to Paul , I like him, request the same prayer as he requested in Ephesians Chapter 6 verses 19 and 20, that you pray for me “ that whenever I open my mouth , words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel and declare it fearlessly” as God takes me to the various corners of the world.
God Bless You and God Bless over beloved Fiji.

Amazing Testimony of Andrew Moti
On 1st February, 2004 I suffered a catastrophic brain stem stroke. After fourteen and half hours of waiting at the hospital my condition was finally managed by intra-arterial urokinase. The MRI’s revealed upper brain stem pontine infarction, complicated by haemorrhage. It made me severely disabled requiring tracheostomy and enteral feeding. I had a very significant quadriparesis worse on the left than on the right and significant cranial nerve palsies.
Never in my lifetime of 52 years was I ever admitted in the hospital.
My hospital stay was some five months with three months in the Intensive Care Unit and a month at the Rehabilitation Hospital
How did I come out of this?
I am living today purely through God’s mercy and healing.
The director of neurology at the hospital has stated in her letter “Most patients – 95% of this type of stroke die, the remaining 5% have significant morbidity.”
Receiving healing in my body is just a secondary issue. The primary issue is (and with 100% conviction), that there is God, God is real, and He hears our prayers!! There were thousands who were interceding for me and The Almighty God heard their cry, blessed their faith and answered their prayers. That’s why I am still living today!
All the time I was lying in hospital bed totally unconscious, I had no idea what the people were doing outside. They were tirelessly exercising their faith by crying out to the Lord with positiveness.
The awakening call for me was the scripture in Heb. 9:27
“And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement.” The two appointments death and the judgement cannot be cancelled. The vital question “Are you ready?”
In Matt.16:25
It says “If you try to keep your life to yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life.”
In Luke 10:27
It says “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind.” What it means that all of us must have a SERIOUS relationship with God, always.
John 14 1:3
This verse for me has become very real to me as I was blessed to see a glimpse of heaven whilst I was in Life Support Machine.
On the fifth day at the last hour I opened my eyes and my wife and my sisters and relatives were jumping for joy that nearly shook the hospital staff.
In the verse, it says that Jesus is the way to the Father. Jesus says to his disciples “Don’t be worried or upset. Believe in God and believe also in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you if it were not so. And after I go prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself so that you will be where I am.”
This is the Christian Faith and our Hope. I would love to tell my fellow brothers and sisters that this is for real.
It is our desire to reach the ultimate destination and to reach there, there is no other way but what Jesus says in John 14: 6
“I am the way the truth and the life, no one goes to the father accept my me”
Therefore it is imperative that one accepts Jesus as their personal Saviour.
I also learnt from this incident about Suffering and Purpose.
Suffering & Purpose:
Let’s view suffering as an opportunity to demonstrate God’s power and bring glory to him. He will answer our prayers by healing us. Perhaps he will use suffering of someone we love to make us more compassionate, kinder and more helpful. He wants us to be a vibrant testimony to his glory.
The Bible Says:
God has many good reasons for letting us suffer:
The following Scripture will give you more light on this subject:
Suffering silences Satan (Job 1-2)
Suffering gives God an opportunity to be glorified (Jn. 11:4)
Suffering makes us more like Christ (Phil.3:10)
Suffering makes us appreciative (Rom 8:28)
Suffering teaches us to depend on God (Is 40: 28-31)
Suffering enables us to exercise our faith (Job 23:10)
Suffering teaches us patience (Rom 5:3)
Suffering makes us sympathetic 92 Cor. 1:3-6)
Suffering makes and keeps us humble (2 Cor. 12: 7-10)
Suffering brings rewards (1Pet 4: 12-13)
One may think that I must have lost all hope in life. But I tell you, Life has become more meaningful to me, the family more precious, I am much happier, and my worship and the relationship with God is much more sweeter. I am proud to be a living testimony for my Jesus who has given me a new lease of life and has lifted me to greater heights that words cannot describe.
I cannot imagine where my destiny would have lied if Jesus was missing in my life and the loved ones around me.
My pleas to those who do not know Jesus is please do not procrastinate and there is no cost to you. He is the living God, The Saviour, The Healer and He has said “He’ll be Back to take us where He is”
